Boston Minuteman Campground
We were heading for some serious fall apple picking and photography and we were bringing a couple of young guests along so we chose Boston Minuteman Campground to be our base for the weekend. Boston Minuteman bears the signs of it's beginnings as a KOA affiliate but it's so much more than your typical transient campground. There are no seasonal sites at Boston Minuteman Campground so you are sharing with folks just like you who are touring or just relaxing for a time among the tall trees in the rugged landscape. You won't feel like your are intruding in someone’s neighborhood when you arrive.
There are times you know that you that you made a good choice from the very beginning. This was one of those times. We pulled up to the office just after dark and noted the amount of activity for an off season weekend. We were greeted at the desk with smiles and helpful information about the campground and the area. As we walked back to the rig we were met by a guide to bring us to our assigned site and make sure we were okay. This was one of those days we really needed and appreciated the extra care taken.
Located in Littleton, MA it's easy to find and it's a great location for a weekend or week of exploring the area. For those visiting the area for the first time it's a great location to use as a base. It's close to Boston and other points of interest. There is commuter rail nearby for easy trips into Boston for sightseeing.
The campground is well laid out with adequate site size and accessibility. Many of the sites are strewn with boulders but not so much that they interfere with your use. The sites appear to have been designed to use the boulders features best advantage as boundaries and backdrops to fire pits.
The store is well stocked with the those items you forgot to pack as well as souvenirs. We visited in the fall so we were not able to enjoy the large outdoor pool and entertainment area. The free wireless internet even worked fairly well at our remote location.
